10-2-2002 NHL All-Star Skill Competitions
The annual All-Star event kicked off today with the skill competitions. Team North America and Team World competed in six different races and the fans got to see their stars shine.
Team North America won the puck control relay with a team of Paul Kariya, Mario Lemieux and Tony Amonte.
Paul Kariya of Team North America won the fastest skater competition, beating Sergei Fedorov in the final.
Chris Pronger of Team North America won the hardest shot competition with a result of 98 MPH, beating Jaromir Jagr in the final.
Mario Lemieux of Team North America won the accuracy shooting competition, beating Sergei Fedorov in the final.
Patrick Roy of Team North America won the goalie competition (pass&score), beating Dominik Hasek in the final.
Team North America won the breakaway relay with a team of Mario Lemieux, Paul Kariya and Rob Blake.
